shout outs:
Ive done all i could do with this high octane character. From 2008-2013. V1-V3 ive come a long way. and i have learned a lot. Much respect and honor to a great team of beta testers on this project. My lead tester Sabaki, lando & Jodafro (aka Dannyboy).

Character details:
The character is not an easy one motion button character and two buttons like those MVC characters. Im old school so his moveset is that of the days of Art of fighting. KOF & of course all the street fighter games and CVS games. those are the motion sets. so if you were never skilled in those games then this terry IS NOT for you!

Speech:
Im only gonna make this sort of speech here at the crom and IMT when i go there to share the link.
I REPEAT this is NOT a beta. This is the real and final product. The official full character of all i could do to him.

There are some speckles of things concerning his FX in ways i still would like to better adjust but thats something i will tackle much later and that will happen when i decide to update him to 1.0. Nothing major and no other version of this terry. The character is already heavy enough. In the future though i may add a special intro update versus Landos Terry The hungry wolf when its complete and thats all.

The biggest advice i can give to you guys here starting to create is just go with your passion. Your gut. dont hold back and go all out with your ideas. Keep stabbing at your projects till its right. never rush it for no one!

Use all the resources around you. Read the docs if you want to understand definitions BUT also take advantages of all those well coded characters you downloaded. study those characters. try to understand how they work and how certain things may help your project along. Never get angry at honest critique. Mature ones that is, ones that actually help you. Insults just try to ignore. its tough but just stick to your guns and ideas....No one is perfect and you can only learn to get better.

Great words from a great firend and great creator bro. this surely is one hell of a banging Terry! The legendary one has finally been released to the world of mugen!

It has been a pleasure and a full on blast being a tester for him behind the scenes for these years and i simply love every update you shown me and the ideas we have talked about that you have had for him. even the ones for my own version for ABR. You are an inspiration for all out here that want to create their own character their way and not be afraid to do it. Its alot of hard work but its well worth it when you have a passion for someone you want to do and to do the way you want.

awesome line man. Yeh its been an educating fun ride creating him and im glad i got lucky enough to form a dope team of loyal testers to release something flavaful.

Hes not super tip top perfect but hes perfect enough for almost everyone to enjoy....and way proud of the results of the project. no regrets...

Lets just say im not going to change my ways for anyone. I always remember this as a hobby. but just like in real life off the net i take pride in my work. I like feedback on tech and respectful opinions. thats just me so trust me im not worried about the haters but im always ready to punch em in the face first chance i get in person! lol




but on a more serious note. ill be posting updates on whether or not i updated terry. im just updating stuff that are more obvious i need to fix. the theme and damage im not changing that. hes a high powered character. Just remember to go to my site and get him since ive seen yesterday in a video clowns tweaking him down. so spread the word. go to the site or PM me here for the file if you cant seem to get to my source link

oh and yeah man we have had our talk on that whole clown matter. i still have a sour taste about it but it is what it is and we just do like we always do, give the haters Haterade...its their preferred drink of choice. lol. i say to anyone anywhere and especially here at our house... create you way. def take good feedback thats done with positiveness and respect that helps you grow as a creator of any kind of content you want to do. Anything with sly remarks and demeaning nature of talk will overshadow the feedback. My job is to promote positive atmosphere for all to enjoy and most of all... have fun doing what you are doing and learn to get better.. i am still growing and learning as i go. Your never too old to learn something. and yes.. i am old ...so says shadman and BDC. lmao

this Terry is made for fun and to be used for fun and if there is something anyone can learn from it, learn. thats with anything anyone does. i have played with the character for a long time and i love it , the high octane gameplay and various movesets you can pull of is fun to me. I always look at creations from the creators view not my own perspective. I only give feedback on something that really bugs, errors and does something it should not do and fix without taking away the core gameplay style of what the creator is going for.. Thats me. So to all my Crom brethren and visitors and friends that come to check us out here.. wanna share you works and feel comfy to do so. Learn, Create, enjoy and have fun and always ...take some pride a bit in your work and create your way and do good at it. this is a enjoyable hobby...have fun with it and be creative.

yea bro stay true to your style. its really a breathe of fresh air to the mugen scene. mugen needs more visionaries like you and sabaki. the damages like you said are a matter of opinion. dont let anybody sweat you on that because as i recall i had a convo with some of the major coders from imt and mfg about it and they all had different prefrences about it. ultimately cyanide said its all a matter of opinion.

All true what you said Samurai. Im not going to change my style at all for sure. i just want to get better at doing things a lot cleaner. All i ask of these so called long time pros that put out well over 5 or more characters and they are on point with their craft is reach out to the new creators who have obvious technical issues in a classy way. If you bash then that says a lot about you as a veteran coder. coding aint easy and it takes time & patience. if you know how to fix bugs on the screen then you should be sharing tips on that majorly if you are that into pointing out errors that seriously

As for the trolls. well haha even vyn had his fair share and even Mr fong and Reu. hardly any of the community started paying homage to that cat REU till he died in an accident. so when it comes to the flames i laugh at it after a while. i be heated at first cuz of the nonsense but i always get passed it lol

so the Ryo project is still on the ball rolling. he wont have as many supers as terry but he definitely will be cool as hell to use and a bit cleaner as for as on a technical level....not gonna front i learned some interesting stuff from dons lil video about my terry and i saw another one he did on bad coded MVC style characters too...

so i say USE THE TROLLS.......but dont be afraid to combat them either while defending your project


The clown that started the whole rift at IMT had a sh*t load of errors with his own damn creation HE EDITED and thats the DONKEY OF THE MONTH FOR ME....



so stay focused folks. dont be afraid to create and just learn from your mistakes


here are the lists of Upates ive done so far for terry. I made the last one (part 3) but i havent uploaded the new link yet.

Update 1:

-lvl 1 power geyser doesnt juggle anymore. axis on blast & bounce adjusted

-launchers geyser punch & kick DONT juggle anymore. one pop up each. you miss the rave you fail. no infinites

-Elbow juggle from dons vid seems to be fixed now. you really have to work hard to do that. but eh anyway i couldnt do that on dons geese howard when i fought him so i guess that elbow ta death BS is over

-power waves dont continue to hit enemies that are in a lie down state. all waves pass through

-EX power wave on hits lie down state enemies (temporary. i may change it)

-hit boxes adjusted much smaller on umtimate whirlwind punch. (still under observation)

-lvl 1 overshift buster wolf open damage and block damage are cut down

-lvl 3 buster wolf blast is cut down

- rising tackle damage cut down

-crack shoot damage cut down

-EX barbarian triple power slam damage is cut down

-perfect win state themes changed, just the one in the last round. its an SNK theme.



Update 2:

-ALL supers are balanced a bit better. lvl 1 and 2 supers can get hit out of action. no invincible factors. only level 2 maximum burn knuckle has a slight advantage. Damages are toned down also. not a lot but a bit more. remember the theme of this terry, hes a maxed version of mines. so im not gonna dumb em down much

-Most lvl 3 supers are toned down in damage.

-The geyser quake has no invincibility at the start. only at the end when he gets a shot to strike the ground. thats for a few moments

-more hit boxes removed and resized a bit smaller. i wont go crazy with that because as i said before with the CSLN viewer 2 on the boxes it makes them look way bigger than what they are in AIR section. so i focused more on hit damage and block damage to tone down more instead. You can block all supers or dodge them, only one you can not block is the utimate wolf power. he breaks your guard. its intentional. Thats a level 4 move anyway

-Ultimate whirl wind punch hit boxes on initial start is smaller. you have to be a bit closer to the gust of wind around to trigger his full on attack. The spinning attack hit boxes are resized smaller. hits still do the job though. chip damage i toned down a taste

-ALL specials can not break trough projectiles. with the version you guys have now you can do that. it was a horrible mistake . i didnt pay much attention to those hit ATT rules now i see why certain code accuracy freaks were trippin. only specials that can break through are the power waves since its for the ground and almost all projectiles pass over it anyway

-Not that much invulnerability to rising tackle. severe up close but do have a shot of catching him out of it.

-ALL EX moves are nerfed properly so they cant break through projectiles, only ones that can do that are the AIR & Ground EX burn knuckle. I did it like that since those moves take power and you cant abuse it. so thats fair

-EX moves can pass by but not for very long.

-weak power wave is now the ground wave. short burst blast like vyns. same knock down effect

-AI slightly re done a pinch of V3 AI And tossed a trigger of V2s old AI aggressor in there.


Update 3:


The final patch updates have been done, im just looking it over personally before i update the link today

1) I refined the the entire AI helper. hes a bit better on defense and that parry situation (if it was an AI issue) should
be fixed since i used a particular new solid AI method. No more i can and will do with that AI

2) His lvl 1 over shift buster wolf. CAN BE hit at the start of the rush in. AND at the end hes left wide open for an assault once youve blocked the full on assault. ive tested this my self 3 times using pots shingouki against him. i punished him after i blocked everything using a super dragon punch. if you cant do that then its your game play skill folks. step it up!

3)the small icon for the portrait at the select screen has been re sized properly and now it looks clean cut. i had to crop it a good 3 more times to get it right

4) LVL4 Ultimate whirlwind punch is much more effective off the start. as i said in a past post HES NOT invincible during initial charging stance of wind. HIT BOXES have been re sized smaller so you have to be closer AND you can hit him out of that. You miss the chance youre screwed. so on that note ill like to add that now his first hit works like ryus hurricane kick. if open hit is successful instead of bouncing away the enemy he bounces them in, just right so that he can engulf them into the full on assault.

thats definitely true YS. i have had some characters that elitist peeps made that do ridiculous damage where others do hardly any in comparison to others. When making a certain type character to function in all rosters for people you can never hit the "balance " mark because everyone codes different to their likes. If there was just one way...we all would follow it and not try different avenues. But glad this isnt the case because trying new methods and styles of your own can open up new venues to creating. Terry is a beastly boss like character but he can get his butt whipped by infinites characters and even Loganir and Verz Cyclops. if he was that overpowered then those characters wouldnt be able to even win a round let alone an entire match. and this was just with updates to V2, so now he is even more beatable in V3, but depends as well what kind of character your using and also your skill. There was things Kai fixed that were to him ...things that may needed adjustments. Glad you made them bro but always keep in mind he has no bugs and no errors popping up. which is great and outstanding.

Thanks as usual on the support fellas. again if you guys see any real bugs pop up on the screen or in any way just let me know. ive become quite good at not havin bugs show all over the damn screen. the elitist mugen fan tards seem to not realize thats a huge plus. the mugen community is filled with that. but thats normal if you dont know anything about coding. you can always get better at finding them and clearing them all

but anyway today the link has been updated again

1) MFFA squrtile's palette colors for my terry have been thrown in along with some of mine i left in. so remember to hold start also and press different buttons to see more colors! 8)

2) AI updated again. Now he blocks way more. parries way more effectively. doesnt rush in with that medium burn knuckle poorly and he roll dodges a whole lot more effectively enough to set you up with attacks.

3)damage on certain specials and normals got a +5 on it. i nerfed terry so much that i didnt realize how weak he was. pots characters. don dragos geese and others like that still pack more of a punch but now terry feels like a heavy weight again to tangle with those types in that area.


do pay attention to the dates of the updates at my site. although im already working on My ryo version now i still will go back to tweak some off things in his AI dont like if i see it...

latest update has to do with his AI defense and hit boxes. date: 5/9/13

check the site

details:

1)his block, parry and guard cancel are on high. he blocks way more than anything else. If you see folks making videos now and hes just standing there open 90% of the time not blocking then yeah they didnt follow suit and get the updates. the block is so obvious and high with his AI now you cant avoid seeing it. He blocks about as high as Gms MOTW terry bogard. thats serious^^

2) the hit boxes have been resized smaller again with certain blasts. mainly his buster wolf blasts. i resized a couple and removed one that was extra and i didnt realize it

3) chip damage of ultimate whirl wind toned down. still packs a punch but when you block against it you wont die as fast. remember as soon as you see him go into his stance at a distance with that super spam em down! hes vulnerable that way. but if hes up close on you...NIGHT NIGHT! lol

4) ALL EX non hit triggers have been nerfed out. example the EX power tackle can get hit right after the 5th frame of his charge at you. so yeh if timed right you can knock em out of that. miss your change your screwed. You basically can hit terry out of any EX move. i had to do my homework on the rules of creating EX moves. an author i was studying eons ago was doing it wrong in most ways. ill leave it at that.


as for right now enoy the cut thats there....im currently trying to figure out a bug issue in his AI where he dashes in the air in his ground dash right after the power bash...not sure why that happens but im aware and im on the case trying to fix it. im doing that and im tryingto get his side step to trigger again in AI.since i coded in a stern AI guard his random AI is a bit thrown off so i have to hit the right random number where starts side stepping again. thats important. for now he just dodge rolls, guard cancels or tech safe roll.

just one more AI trigger to work right and hes perfect
